Text Cleaner is committed to providing users with a safe, transparent experience that respects your privacy. Our tool helps you clean AI-generated text, remove Markdown formatting and emojis quickly and accurately with completely local processing — your data never leaves your device. Your AI conversations and text content stay private. This policy applies whether you use Text Cleaner in a browser or as an installed app, since the underlying local processing and privacy guarantees are the same either way. The tool is built on the belief that data control belongs to users.

1. Privacy Policy

1.1. Security Principles

• A static, client-side-only application: Text Cleaner has no backend server — it is delivered to your browser as a fixed set of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, and every one of those files already contains all the code that will ever run. Nothing is fetched, computed, or rendered on any server during your session; all cleaning happens using only the code already loaded in your browser.
• 100% local processing: All text processing is performed directly in your browser; no data is sent to any server. Whether you're cleaning AI chatbot responses, social media posts, or any other text, everything stays on your device.
• Input handled as inert text, never executed: Whatever you paste or type is only ever read and displayed as plain text — never interpreted as HTML or run as code. Even if your input looks like a script, tag, or markup (for example, code blocks from an AI response), it stays visible as plain characters on the page and cannot execute.
• No autosave or persistence: The tool does not save any text you paste or type — not even temporarily on your device. Everything exists only in your browser tab's memory while the page is open. Reloading the page, closing the tab, or navigating away will erase it immediately, so copy your cleaned result before leaving the page.
• Your AI conversations are private: When you clean text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or other AI assistants, your conversations never leave your browser. We cannot see, access, or store any of your content.
• No account needed: Nothing to sign up for, so there's no personal data tied to your identity — ever.
• No AI processing: Text Cleaner does not use AI or machine learning today. If AI is ever used in the future, it would run entirely on your device, your data would never leave it, and this page would be updated first.
• Works completely offline: The tool is designed to work completely offline after the first load, eliminating all risks of data transmission.
• No tracking or ads: The tool does not log data, does not use advertising cookies, does not track behavior, and does not display any advertisements.
• Secure connection: The website operates on secure HTTPS protocol to prevent unauthorized access and protect your connection.
• Verifiable, not just promised: Because the tool runs entirely as static files in your browser, you can open DevTools → Network tab to confirm no request fires from your text (the only network activity is the anonymous traffic analytics described in Section 1.2, which never includes anything you type or paste), or inspect the deployed source code — minified for performance, not obfuscated — to confirm it contains no network-request code and never renders your input as HTML. This transparency lets you verify our privacy and safety claims yourself — it does not grant any right to copy, redistribute, or reuse the code; see Section 2.3 for our Intellectual Property Rights.
• Share Target privacy: On Android, after installing Text Cleaner to your Home Screen, you can share text into it from other apps. This content is captured by the Service Worker running on your device and held briefly in your browser's local IndexedDB storage — never sent to any server. The next time you open the app, it is automatically loaded into the input field and immediately deleted from storage. If the app isn't opened within 3 minutes of sharing, the pending content is automatically discarded.
• No recovery on share: Sharing always replaces whatever is currently in the input field, with no way to recover it — this is a direct consequence of the tool never saving your text anywhere, not even temporarily, so there is nothing for the app to check against or restore before the new content loads. For the same reason, if you share into Text Cleaner more than once before opening the app, only the most recent share is kept; earlier ones are overwritten and cannot be recovered. Copy anything you don't want to lose before sharing new content into the app.

1.2. Data Collection

• Some aggregate, anonymous statistics (e.g., browser type, screen resolution, access region) may be recorded through Cloudflare Web Analytics to evaluate traffic and optimize performance.
• These statistics are completely anonymous, do not use tracking cookies, and are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.
• Important: We collect no information about what text you process, which AI tools you use, or any content you paste or share into the tool.

1.3. Cookies and Local Storage

• The tool only saves display preferences (such as light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage to maintain your experience.
• If you share text into the app from another app on Android (see the "Share Target privacy" point in Section 1.1), that content is briefly held in your browser's local IndexedDB storage until it is loaded into the app, then deleted.
• No cookies or other data are used for tracking purposes.
• You can clear these preferences and any pending shared content anytime by clearing your browser's local storage.

2. Terms of Use

2.1. Purpose

• The tool is provided free for personal, educational, and daily work purposes.
• Perfect for cleaning AI-generated content, preparing professional documents, removing social media formatting, and extracting plain text from any source.
• It is designed for processing text content only. It does not process image files.
• Users are responsible for ensuring their text content complies with laws and social norms.

2.2. Limitation of Liability

• The tool is provided "as-is". All automated processing results are for technical support only and do not guarantee absolute accuracy for all special formats or use cases.
• The author is not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as data loss, formatting errors, or content discrepancies) arising from the use or inability to use this tool. This includes the loss of any unsaved text if the page is reloaded, closed, or navigated away from, or if it is replaced by new shared content via the Share Target feature, since the tool does not store input persistently.
• Users should review the output before using it for official purposes to ensure accuracy and suitability, especially for important documents or professional communications.
• If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

2.3. Intellectual Property Rights

• The source code, design, and content of Text Cleaner are owned by Lâm Thái Sơn and protected by copyright law.
• May not be copied, distributed, or modified without written permission from the author.
• Text Cleaner uses the Merriweather font, which is licensed under the SIL Open Font License. This font was created by Eben Sorkin and is not part of Text Cleaner's copyright.

3. Updates and Changes

• This policy may be updated over time to accommodate technical changes or new legal requirements.
• When changes occur, new content will be updated directly on this page for easy tracking.
• Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

4. User Responsibilities

• Do not use the tool to process, distribute, or store content that violates laws, copyrights, or others' privacy.
• While the tool processes all content locally and privately, users are responsible for the content they choose to process and how they use the cleaned output.
• The author reserves the right to suspend or restrict access if misuse is detected.
• Text Cleaner is not directed at children, and is not intended for use by minors without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
